DESCRIPTION:

The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department will host “Movies by Moonlight,” event at the Morton Theatre.

This rare indoor “Movies by Moonlight” event will feature the 1978 classic “The Wiz.”

Doors open at 3pm. The afternoon begins at 3:30pm with a presentation by Lydia Mitchell a featured dancer in the film, moderated by Dr. Freda Scott Giles, UGA Associate Professor Emerita (Dept. of Theatre and Film Studies and African American Studies). The film follows at 4pm. Popcorn and bottle water will be available for purchase.

This event is free of charge and is open to the public. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Registration is not required. The public is reminded that downtown parking decks and street metered parking is free on Sundays. So ease on down!
