African American Film Festival

DATE: Sunday, February 11, 6:00 PM

ADMISSION: Free

SEATING: General Admission

Music is at the center of the 2nd Annual Black History Month Film Festival, presented by the Morton Theatre Corporation. Dr. Lesley Feracho from the University of Georgia will introduce extraordinary world music videos that show the diversity of the African diaspora.

Our feature film will bring us closer to home.  “Get On Up”  tells the story of the Godfather of Soul, Georgia’s own James Brown. Chadwick Boseman gives a stellar performance as Brown, leading an all-star cast of Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Nelson Ellis, Jill Scott, Craig Robinson and Dan Aykroyd, directed by Tate Taylor.  Many of James Brown’s greatest hits are incorporated into this moving drama.  The film is rated PG-13.

The festival is free and all are welcome! On-street and deck parking are available for free on Sundays. Private lots may also be available for a fee.
