Go Getters is a wellspring of community and inspiration for everyone— whether you’re new to town and looking to find your people, feeling stuck and unsure how to kick-start something new, recently graduated and building the next phase of your life, retired and enjoy connecting with the community in new ways, or simply looking for like-minded folk to make your life here richer.
Inspired by Creative Mornings, Go Getters is a quarterly rallying point for fire-starters, hard workers, fresh thinkers and anyone who wants to impact our city for good while having a great time doing it.
It’s one part breakfast club, one part deep dive into the stories behind Athens’s greatest successes. Come early for the free grub, swag and company of fellow go-getters (doors open at 7:45, remarks begin at 8:30).
Remember this event is FREE, and that’s no accident. Go Getters takes all and welcomes anyone who wakes up in the morning dreaming of how he or she can do better.
And everyone — EVERYONE — gets free breakfast and coffee. Because you can’t change the world on an empty stomach.
Get ready to hear Matthew Purkey, President & CEO of The Northeast Georgia United Way, present alongside Community Impact Director Emily Nicholos. Together they'll be telling the story of how they've worked alongside tech developers to both help create and implement innovative new technologies to assess community need. Our local chapter of the United Way is leading a nationwide movement toward making data-driven decisions about giving, and providing the community with resources to measure where the need it, the factors that cause it and the local organizations doing the most effective job addressing that need.
Our local United Way is making big, exciting changes to the way woke folk in this community are taking care of each other.
Registration is limited.
This event is presented in conjunction with Acropolis: Athens Innovation Month!
